Happy New Years Eve
I'm glad Dad finally answered their cell phone so I could enjoy new years not thinking of them stuck in a snow bank in Flagstaff but dad in his infinite wisdom had taken another route! Happy New Years!

Blessing Time
OK, so we are blessing Winslow next Sunday at my Mother-in-laws ward. Her church is from 1-4 and Sacrament is last, so it will be starting at 2:50. The address is 1320 South Wasatch Drive in Salt Lake City. We would love to see everyone at our house after. If you have any questions, let me know! Can't wait to see everyone!

Old Stove/New Stove
So, as I was deciding to post this, I thought it would be fun for those who wish to post their feelings about the old stove/new stove transition in the form of a poem, just a thought, or a story that it reminds you of. No pressure, no contest, just fun. This may or may not get any response, but it might be fun to see what you all have to say.

Winslow Stanley Alder
Hi Everyone! Just wanted to let you know that we are all doing well here at the Alder household. Winslow is a GREAT baby, outside of his having day and night mixed up. (He sleeps ALL day and likes to be up for a 5-6 hour stretch starting at midnight.) Let's just say, it's a good thing I don't mind taking naps. Though if anyone has any tips for getting this turned around, both Scott and I are open to suggestions.
I just wanted to let everyone know that we will be blessing Henry in October. I am not sure of the date yet, though, because Conference is during October, so I don't know if the baby blessings will be the week before or the week after conference. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up and I will let you know as soon as I have the exact date and time. I am pretty sure Sacrament is at 1:00 and we will have an Open House afterward. Any of the fine Priesthood holders in our family are warmly invited to join the circle, should they care to. Hope to see as many of you as possible!

We Will Be Here for Awhile
We are wanting everyone to know that Dale and I will be living at 732 East Center St. in Orem (Grandpa's house) until next August. This will be our home and Hyrum will be living here too. We are so happy to be able to live here for this length of time. It's a real blessing because of the unforseen move here. If it hadn't been for this house, we would not have been able to do this. This will give us a chance to get our feet under us.
We want you to come visit us. Please respect the house as our home while we are living here and make arrangements for a visit like you would if we were living anywhere else. We hope this doesn't inconvenience anyone. Thank you for welcoming us back to Utah.

My Dear Family!
So as most of you know, I will not be at Cade's wedding or the Family Reunion. But, as most of you know... I just saw 95% of you! And I wanted to take a moment and just say -- THANK YOU!!
I had a wonderful 2 1/2 week road trip, up to Montana for my amazing sisters college graduation! I helped James, Lyndsi and their brilliant children move to Idaho! (love you guys)... Then spent time in Salt Lake with Aunt Annie, Emily, Faeth, Scott and Henry! Had an amazing time, celebrated my 31st birthday and of course, because I used to live in SLC, had many, many friendly re-unions around every corner. I also got to spend time with my brother Spud, who if you haven't seen him yet, has turned into an unbelievable man. And I mean...Man. That little kid ain't no little kid anymore. He's doing so well and has now opened the door on the next chapter of his life, college. Spud's going to be at National Guard Drill the weekend of the Family Reunion, so he won't be there either... but, I know he'll be missed. Then I got to spend an evening, making dinner and visiting with Sarah and Noah. What a beautiful little family they are. Noah is growing up fast and is just the most handsome little guy. Sarah looks great! And it was amazing to be with my Possum! I just wish I could have spent more time with her... Then I was off to Cedar City, Aunt Maureen, Kevin, Aunt Debbie, Aunt DeAnn, Russ, Grandpa, Kathleen, Erin, Trevor, Jason, April, Linden, Teni, Laurel, Sydney, Sawyer... am I forgetting anyone?! What a lovely time. Aunt Maureen (Moe-Moe) and I just laughed and joked and laughed... It was great! Dinner and Visiting and Brownie Resolutions... it was a wonderful time. The Seestors are an amazing bunch of ladies and I feel so fortunate to have them as my Aunties! Grandpa and Kathleen look amazing! I can't believe that Gramps is going to be 79 years old! I asked him what he wanted to do for his 80th and he said that we should send him and Kathleen to Hawaii and the rest of us can stay home!! Ha! I'm going too...
So now I'm back in LA. Wishing I was still with you all. LA is a tough place and I just don't know how much more of it I can handle.
I would just like to say how much I love my parents. They are amazing people (as you know) but I just need to recognize them... I would be so lost in this world without them. They are my anchor. The strength they have... how brave they are... they amaze me everyday. The home they've built -- that refuge from the world. They are some of the truest people I know....and my sweet Mother (the tears begin to flow) -- she is my best friend. I mean that. She is my best-friend. (Thanks to Aunt Debbie for the wonderful conversation we had about Mothers and their Single children....) Mom, you are the most important person in my life. You amaze me, everyday. I love you. (okay, okay... enough of that.)
So, much love to you all. Know that I will be thinking of you this weekend and wishing I was there!
Cade -- Brittany is an awesome girl! Congrats! May you both be eternally happy!
God bless you all and may peace be with you...
Gabe
p.s. Forget The Biggest Loser... everyone looks amazing!

Dancing Twins
Brittany's Shower
The shower was a "Princess" theme. Sarah did a wonderful job of putting together fun games. The Goldsworthy/Behrmann girls won all the games. Congratulations! She also prepared fun goody bags for all of us. There was a crown, some flip-flops, pink fortune cookies, necklaces, a ring-pop, and some sunglass cases. Very cute and fun. We all put on our crowns and necklaces for the party. We tried to wear the ring pops, but they are made for kid fingers, so they pinched ours. We just went ahead and ate them. We ate some delicious "Cafe Rio" salads. They were delicious. Also, there was a great assortment of delicious candies. Thank you, Sarah, for a wonderful party.
I am posting some of the pictures here.

We just wanted to wish all the mothers in the family a Happy Mothers Day.
I (Maureen ) have been thinking alot about my mom today of course and thinking what a wonderful mother she was and how much I love her and how grateful I am to have had her as a mother. Also how my sisters (seestors) that includes you Annie, have done such a great job raising my neices and nephews, they are all such fun wonderful kids who are in turn raising their own great kids. Dad/Grandpa says Mom was a Great Wife too, who encouraged us to always do the right things for the right reasons and kept her house and life in proper order.
She gave up many pleasures to serve her family and her Heavenly Father.

The Ranch
A few weeks ago I was pumping some iron at the gym, just wearing my BYU shorts when I noticed a girl looking at me. She then asked if I was a BYU fan. She used to live in Provo and said she knows people from Delta. I asked who and she said, "Mike Corey." Also, I used to date her cousin (from Alpine) Sara Squires, who is now married to a guy from Delta.
Anyway, I ended up meeting Kenzie (the girl from the gym) and her friend for dinner about a week later. Kenzie said that her family has a 6000 acre ranch outside of Lewistown, MT and that I should come out sometime. I happened to go out on Branding Day. I have not worked that hard in a long, long time nor have I had some much fun. We got up before six am, ate breakfast, and then jumped on the horses. I told them that I had never really ridden a horse but they didn't seem to worried. No instructions later, I was riding out into the pasture to round up cattle. It was absolutely beautiful out there. We had things under control until the cows (all mom cows and their calves) started crossing a creek. I had to cross a few times and my horse almost dumped me. We got spread a little thin and some of the cows changed direction and then began to stampede in the wrong direction. Kenzie's brother, Weston, and I were the closest and her dad, Russ, started yelling for us to turn the cows. I was not exactly sure how to control the horse but I just went for it, kicking my heels into Captain's sides and we were off! So fast, in fact, that my cowboy hat went flying off of my head. There was no time to go pick it up. The next thing I knew, me and Captain were going full speed alongside stampeding cattle and I was yelling all sorts of cowboy words.
After we got them (probably 350 cows) turned and into the corral we dismounted. We ran around in the corrals separating calves from their mothers. Once seperated, we herded the calves into a barn. Then began the hard work. We started by running the calves into a gate and then branding and vaccinating them. However, we didn't want to be working until 3 am so me and two of Kenzie's brothers started branding them old school. One brother would grab a hind leg and drag the calf out and then I flipped the calf and held it while the other brother vaccinated and her uncle branded. I think I flipped about 75 calves. It was very tiring and sometimes painful but was a lot of fun.
My knees and shins were swollen and bruised but there was no way I was going to wimp out. Kenzie's sister-in-law was convinced I had branded cattle before and her brothers gave me a rancher nickname, T-Cro. One of the girls said, "how come I don't get a ranch nickname?" Jaxson, Kenzie's brother, responded, "because you gotta earn it like T-Cro did!"
We finished up just before dark. I woke up Sunday morning with a pounding headache and threw-up, then I felt great! Just had to get rid of all that branding smoke and dirt in my system.
I will be going out again this weekend. Also, they want me to come out when they transfer all the cows from their lower ranch to their upper ranch in the mountains. It is about a 16 to 18 hour day of herding cattle. I hope I can go out!
